What We Collect

DSDPlayer and DSDScanner collect minimal data necessary for operation:

• Machine ID — A hardware fingerprint (hashed combination of motherboard, CPU, and disk identifiers) used solely for license activation. This is generated locally and only transmitted when you explicitly activate a license.
• No personal data — We do not collect names, email addresses, browsing history, or usage analytics through the software.
• No telemetry — Neither application phones home, tracks usage, or sends data without your explicit action.

Website

When you visit dsdtools.com or purchase a license:

• Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) are retained for security purposes.
• Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (PayPal/Stripe) under their respective privacy policies.
• License activation records (Machine ID, activation date, IP address) are stored securely for license management.

Third-Party Services

DSDPlayer connects to the following external services when you use specific features:

• lrclib.net — Lyrics lookup (sends song title and artist name)
• lyrics.ovh — Fallback lyrics lookup
• GitHub (BtbN) — ffmpeg download on first run

These connections are initiated only when you use the relevant features and can be avoided by not using those features.

Data Storage

License data is stored locally on your machine in an encrypted file using Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI). No cloud storage is used.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your license activation records by contacting akin@ilicali.com.
