Privacy Policy
The short version. DSDTools is an independently developed high-resolution audio library manager for Windows, created by S. Akın Ilıcalı. You don't need an account to browse this site, download the software, or use it. We don't use tracking cookies, we don't build advertising profiles, and we never sell or share your data.
Information the website collects
The site is designed to collect as little as possible:
- Aggregate traffic analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall visitor numbers and which pages are popular. It is cookieless and does not collect personal information, fingerprint visitors, or track you across other websites.
- Community Hallmark poll (optional). If you vote in the Community Hallmark, your browser stores a random, anonymous identifier locally (so your own picks are remembered), and our server briefly checks your IP address purely to prevent vote spam. No names, emails, or accounts are involved, and the identifier is not linked to your identity.
- Buying a license. Licenses are currently arranged by email. If you email us to purchase, we receive your email address for the sole purpose of delivering your license key and providing support. We don't add you to any marketing list.
The site does not require registration, and it does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Your theme preference (Standard or Reader) is stored only in your own browser.
Why we collect it
Only two reasons: privacy-preserving measurement of overall site traffic, and spam-prevention for the optional community poll. Nothing is used for advertising, profiling, or resale, and nothing is shared with third parties for their own purposes.
The desktop application
DSDTools processes your music library locally on your own computer; it does not upload your files or your library catalog to us. The app connects to our servers only to read the public Community Hallmark standings and to check whether a newer version is available. It does not require an account to run.
Service providers we rely on
- Cloudflare — DNS, security, cookieless web analytics, and delivery of the software download.
- Porkbun — website hosting.
These providers process technical request data (such as IP addresses) as part of delivering and protecting the site, in line with their own privacy policies.
Data retention & your choices
We keep only what's described above, for as long as it serves the purpose stated. You can clear the Community Hallmark identifier at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site. If you've emailed us to buy a license and would like your email details removed, just ask.
Children
DSDTools is general-purpose software not directed at children, and the site does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
